In the final months of 1979, the Dark Lord suffered a fatal attack from the combined forces of James Potter and Severus Snape, a union only brought about by an old man's innate perception. There was a terrible strain between the two young men, especially following Voldemort's fall. It became apperant, however, that there was an underlying attraction between the two. Over the years, though James was happily married to Lily Evans and Severus had picked up a comfortable position within Hogwarts, the two constantly reminded each other of that sexual tension. Before long, James was making periodic trips to Hogwarts Castle, on the pretense of visiting Harry, just to get a glimpse of Severus. One day, there was a fight, and something snapped.
The two men were found tangled in a passionate heap amidst a growing crowd of students, their dignities tossed aside. Albus Dumbledore and Minerva McGonagall stepped in to stop the two. When they realized what had happened, both men were immediatly disgusted and left each other's sight. James began to obsess about Severus in his mind, and Snape was busy working out why it had happened, and stealing a few glances at Harry as well. After a few months time, Severus discovered a strange scent in the air. A flower was in the midst of blooming, one that only does so every thousand years. It is a long process, spanning over several years, with increased potency. It affects the pheremones of some men, generally causing an attraction between passionate people. Including passionate hatred.
Two years had passed. Harry Potter and his friends were in their seventh year of schooling, now of legal wizarding age. He had begun to notice strange changes in himself the he did not find in his friends. His eyes would often wander to Severus Snape and Draco Malfoy, surprised to see their own eyes staring back at him. Meanwhile, a new presence has made itself known. There has been a rising of a new group of Death Eaters, led not by Lord Voldemort, but Antonin Dolohov. He too, had realized the effects of this flower, gathering followers and speaking of a release from the unbearable tension in their lives. Soon, people were disappearing from Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley, as well as their own homes. It wasn't just muggles and muggle-borns anymore. Due to the completely pure lines of these new Death Eaters, half-bloods were hunted down as well, dispite former allegences.
Many events are now taking place around the wizarding world that have not been seen in some time. The Triwizard Tournament returns to Hogwarts, and the Quidditch World Cup (after several delays) is now in full swing. Tensions are growing throughout the earth, and patience is tested in everyone affected by these events...
