DEATH EATER RULES
OOC RULES:
1. THREADS
There is obviously no limit to how many threads you can be apart of, but there is something that I ask of you all. When you choose a thread to RPG in, please make sure that it is not one of the following: An Order Meeting, An Order Meeting with the Leaders of the Order.
If you all want to go out playing Hero and go spying Order meetings, than the DEs may not be for you. Unless I have sent you on such and it has been worked out with me and the other Death Eaters (A past example of this would be Severus Snape).
Honestly if you want to go out and do this - and if you feel that you need to do this than you should be a SPY!
Spy-(n.) A SPY is a person who works for two organizations and passes info from one organization onto the other.
If you want to be a SPY, contact me, because of course your identity MUST be keep secret from others. Other than that I beg all of you to stay away from the Order of the Phoenix threads because it might mean not only death or severe injuries to your character, but also DEATH to the Dark Lord's plans. And that would not be good for the general plot of the board or your character once the Dark Lord got his hands on them.
2. POSTS:
Spammers - if you read the rules on this site than you know that you are breaking them. No spamming in these threads either - these RPGs should be nice and clean because we are an elite organization - thus we should treat our meeting place as such. Spamming consists of any post less than one paragraph, for example if you were to just post a sentence that is considered spam. Bigger posts generate more of a plotline and are better for the person you're posting with because it makes it easier for them to see what is going on in the situation.
3. GODMODING:
I have yet to see any of it in these threads so I applaud you all as good RPGers in that area. Godmoding is any post in which one character tries to take control of another character which they do not play. For example during a battle with curses, someone might aim their wand at another person and put in their post that their curse hit that other person and incapacitated them, that would be a godmode. Godmoding makes RPGing with other people pointless because essentially you're only RPGing with yourself when you do it, it takes all the surprise out of the thread.
4. HEROISM:
This is a new topic all together so let me define it for you through my eyes....
Hero (n.) - A hero is a person who is so determined and eager to take on The Order of the Pheonix that he/she goes and chases these said people ALL over the board. In and out of threads - whether they be closed or not. If the person flaunts abilities that hasn't been given to him or skills that he is yet to earn due to a very young age without a proper explanation, than this word can also be used.
That of course is the extreme version of the definition Hero. But I am not able to stress how much you guys are unwanted here! It is not up to you alone to wipe the Order and their followers from existence, that is up to the Dark Lord and his army of Death Eaters -- yes, there is more than one Death Eater [ie: you] in this army so don't act as if the organization depends on you alone to assassinate the head of the Order. Considering that this is the Death Eater army everyone must work as a team to go out and bring down the Order together. This still does not mean that you can just get a load of people and run through Order threads destroying plans and people left and right, you must be explicitly asked by the Dark Lord or one of the Lead Death Eaters to do this -- so don't go around doing it on your own, unless told to do so.
5. SKILL LEVEL:
This is a big one in my book. Let's take a review of all the Death Eaters here - the youngest you can be to join is seventeen. So we must have at least one or two seventeen year olds or people RPGing as them. When you are seventeen you are either a 6th or 7th year and you won't have graduated from Hogwarts yet. Considering the facts and all you wouldn't be a fully trained witch/wizard. If you are a 7th year you can probably take on one or two Order members (at most) by yourself. If you are older than this and have completed school than you perhaps have a higher skill level than the students of Hogwarts. Of course this also depends on how old you are, and what you have done with your life. But I DO NOT desire to get to technical with this because it would in fact take me forever. Be aware of where your skill level falls, this board will not have about thirty fifth years who suddenly know all the Unforgivvables by heart casting them in a flawless manner three times a day.
6. STAY IC (In Character):
It gets annoying when you see the two mixed up, it also ruins the RP for everyone else. Please keep out of character [OOC] postings and comments to a minimum in all in character [IC] threads because it takes away from the RPG. A small line of commentary is fine if it is necessary, but other than that limit all OOC chat to the PMs or IMs outside of the RPG thread.
IC RULES:
1. Show up to every meeting whether you show up late or not. There are NO penalties for being late, this isn't your potions Classroom and most of you are RPing as adults who have lives and jobs of your own. So be creative and find an excuse for yourself and say it outloud if you like, or just come and say you were there. You probably all get my drift by now on this rule, if not than I pity your low-level of intelligence.
2. Do NOT under any circumstances speak of the Death Eaters, the happenings in the Death Eaters, or the names of Death Eaters outside of the Dark Region. To do so would get you into deep trouble with the Dark Lord not to mention the Death Eaters as a whole. This sort of treachery will get you either kicked of out the Death Eaters and probably even severely injured in the process because the organization doesn't take well to rats.
3. You are professionals, thus we treat each other as such. You are not to start up physical arguments of any kind with the members of this organization. If you MUST debate something debate it peacefully in a rational tone. Please remember that we ARE in fact trying to KEEP our location secret. Which means loud noises could cause a stir and make a lot of bad people open they eyes to where we are located.
4. DO NOT ever give out or tell anyone, no matter how much you trust them, of this place - Riddle Manor, The training Grounds, etc that is. This is a secret meeting place for Death Eaters ONLY. Giving out passwords and locations is a violation of the code of trust and allegiance that you have given to the Dark Lord himself to do so will result in the Death Eaters taking drastic measures against you.
5. If you have a friend that wants to join the Death Eaters relay them to me. DO NOT under any circumstances give out the passwords to these people in question. If they want to join they must fill out an application like everyone else..
6. If you read these rules you can now consider yourself an official part of the Death Eaters. (As long as your application has passed)[/blockquote]
Note: These rules are on Full credit to the former Severus Snape of both the Order and the Death Eaters on The Return of Voldemort, permission was given for usage of them for the Death Eaters. Thanks again Snape!
