Relationship Plots 101

What are relationship plots?[/center]

Relationship plots are titles and classifications used to help characters establish in game relationships. They are a good way to help avoid always having people always being new and constantly introducing each other. It also helps give a more defined status between two characters.

Relationship plots can be simple or more detailed and advanced. The basic categories are friends, love and enemies. Under reach category you need to have different tiles.

For example under love you could have:

• true love
• ex
• current
• crush
• flirt and anything else you could think of that fits

You can have as many titles or classifications under theses three as you’d like. You can also add as many categories are you’d like it is really up to you. The more you have the easier it is to get a clearer plot going between two characters. Some relationship plots also have colour coding. This is not required as not everyone knows the HTML colour codes that are usually used. A simple one colour for all is perfectly acceptable.

For each title you need to have something written to describe that particular relationship. For example if you have ‘crush’ as the title you can simple say ‘I sigh when you walk by’. The common descriptions used for titles are usually taken from lyrics. Just a piece of a song that fits in with the title.

Here are two sample relationship plots:

Basic

• Simple three standard categories
• A few titles under each category
• Basic colours and descriptions for each.

Detailed

• Has more then three categories
• An arrangement of colours
• Different lyrics used to describe each title
• Pictures of the person and a bit describing who the are
• Self created headings for the categories
• Coded application used to help get the details out
• Separate post for the list of people who reply to the application thread

Standard Rules

These are just to make it easier to keep control of the threads and have the plots organized:

• Must have the minimum three basic categories Friends, Love and Enemies
• Must have a handful of titles under each category. (ie. Flirt, crush, ex, physical..etc)
• Any images used must be hosted by the user themselves not hot linked
• Images must not exceed the dimensions max of 550w and 600h as anything more will stretch the forum
• An application should be included even if it is a simple name and relationship only
• If you are using lyrics as a description please credit the artist somewhere in your post
• A list is a must. Once someone posts in your relationship plot you need to update your list with their post. Once the list is updated the poster must delete their post. The thread should not be pages long.
