Details
History:
Lily has always been a bit of a wallflower. The second daughter in a family of five, she always felt sort of in-between. Her mother had been a brilliant witch, who practically abandoned the magical world after marrying her father, an equally brilliant lawyer. She had an older brother and a younger sister, by the name of Nathan and Cora. Both squibs. It came as such a surprise for everyone that she was a witch... So much so, that the elven-year old girl that opened the Hogwarts letter and hurried to show it to her mother felt herself wither in the light of each incredulous stare.
She didn't blame them. After all, her brother was a genius, so smart, so beautiful. Everything about him screamed success and he, indeed, succeeded. A career, a wife, one little boy and a girl on the way. Happy, white picket fenced life. And her sister! Never had she met someone so sweet, so good at pleasing people. Currently, she was in her first year at college. Happy, white picket fenced life in the making.
And Lily? She finished Hogwarts. She hid from a magical war. And she was now back, trying to start a life, a new one, a better one, in the still-recovering wizarding world.
Appearance:
Lithe, skinny and neither tall nor short at 5'5''. Light brown hair that flows around her shoulders. A fringe that she always threatens to cut. Caramel eyes, sort-of-cute face. Wears glasses for reading.
Personality:
Most people mistaken her passive, somewhat detached attitude for shyness, or worse, coldness. However, Lily doesn't often feel the need to say what is on her mind. She deems simple talk as something unnecessary: unless what you want to say is important, you would do better not saying a word.
She doesn't do well with people for prolonged periods of time. She doesn't like being the center of attention, she's too used to being in the background. She's mostly a shadow, a grey person who goes unnoticed, and isn't that a very valuable asset these days?
Occupation:
Currently trying to obtain a job at Flourish and Blotts.
Rpg Sample:
Light, soft, warm light was kissing her all over. She sighed and smiled as the morning sun tickled her nose. Just a little bit longer...Five more minutes, just five, before she definitely woke up. She let the time trickle by, not moving a muscle until she felt completely sated of sleep, silence and sun.
Finally, she opened her eyes and started the difficult task of disentangling herself from the cocoon of sheets she had unconsciously made during her sleep. Lily's tiny kitten was already awake and, seeing her mistress engaged in such a crude battle with the bed's entrails, she jumped in to help.
"Ma doux, you are not helping," stated the former Gryffindor categorically. The cat looked at her quizzically, but retreated her claws and jumped off the bed, offended. The brunette smiled at her antics. She wondered if La Doux would be as amusing as she was now when she would grow up.
When she eventually got up, her bare feet touching the cold floor, her eyes searching the threadbare room, she headed for the window and leaned against its mark. She could see all of Diagon Alley from up there, curiously gloomy despite the warm sun bathing it and almost empty. She bit her lip, thinking of how little money she had left. Once again, it was time to go job hunting!
PS: I'm creating a new character with this account. Consider Lana Gwen a thing of the past and erase it from your memories. Thank you.
