I found this browsing through some stuff.
Many people have asked me 'why didn't they use the Time Turner to go back and save Sirius?' I have written extensively about the time turner in my Harry Potter site here. The fact is, if they had gone back in time and saved Sirius, then Sirius would never have died in the first place... You see? We would never have seen Sirius die if he was going to be saved by future Harry! However there are ways in which the Time Turner could be used, though it is illegal to change time or even be SEEN if you are using the Time Turner. But remember, we have seen what happened - that can't be changed. What could be probable is : Was that really Sirius who died? Perhaps, on using the time turner, someone could have gone back and warned him, and someone had used the polyjuice potion to become him, knowing their fate. (this is obviously unlikely because no one would volunteer!) But what i'm saying is, this could have happened based on what we saw. What can't happen is that Harry would go back to the past and snatch Sirius away before he fell through the veil. Because we know - this didn't happen - we were there. We saw Sirius fall through the curtain, no one can go back and change that. Just like Buckbeak never really died in Book 3. The Harry and Hermione from the future were there the whole time.

Maybe they can like bring him back from the dead or soemthing. I dunno, it seems pretty unrealistic that Harry loses the only family he had left. its very sad.

He's dead, dead as a doornail, it kindda made me mad though, he was the only one keeping Harry from becoming a complete self absorbed ass... Now it seems in the next book he will be, Harry seems to get suckier in the fith book, but who knows, maybe he'll mature a bit with age, but I liked Sirius, he was cool...

They were, the only one that really stayed the same was Dumbledore, but he's always cool.

I think also too harry feels a bit left out because Hermione and Ron are getting al ot "chummier" if you catch my drift, so he feels like a third wheel because he at least had sirius before to talk to and all, plus i think he feels like he's never going to catch a break from privet drive now.

Well duh, but even at the begining of the fith book Harry was all "Whoe is me!" I mean, I'd hate being stuck at privet to and not being informed, but he comes off as VERY self centered.

Yes that is true he does at times make old dudders look like the easter bunny in the book, I felt like shouting get over yourself potter at my book, but then people would have thought I'd have gone funny in the head. I hope the next book is a bit better read then the last with at least some hurmous bits, because I was left with a sense of depression with the last one.

the anger of being stuck in private drive, i think Rowling couldn't write it in other way. think about it. you see your gratest and worse enemy coming back to life, he killed Cedric(well.. not friend but still). somebody died beacause of him. he knows NOTHING what's going on, where's Voldemort, what he's doing.. meanwhile his friends are in headquartes.. even tho they weren't able to find out much, but they STILL didn't wrote him beacause it wasn't allowed.. but he did felt bad, everyone would.
he will probably be more angrier, depressed.. more depressed i suppose.. he does lose all his family.. the pure grief.. (sp?) you can't blame him for being so angry, depressed, that he feels left out.. it's beacause Rowling writes just like real life is.. i mean she describes the feelings so well.. the way she wrote about Sirius' death and Harry's feelings, it was so fimiliar.. and there's nothing to be mad at or upset.. it's how Rowling writes and it's the right way.
and i now think sirius won't come back. rowling has said that she cried while writing this.. so he is dead.. :S
